Nowadays, the public is very aware of the reports of the taxi drivers who are involved in robbery, tampered meter and even sexual harassment. Because of these, many people are finding it hard to trust a taxi driver and many people are now using Taxi Grabbing Online.
Some drivers are taking advantage of their passengers, that’s why most people prefer other means of transportation. This sudden drop in the number of passengers greatly affects the living drivers who are working seriously.
Maybe some of the taxi drivers are abusive, but it doesn’t mean that all of them will take advantage of you. There are still some taxi drivers who genuinely caring for their passenger. This taxi driver proved that there are still a lot of decent taxi drivers that are not taking advantage of their passengers.
This taxi driver displayed his kindness by returning a lost bag containing to a passenger that contains valuable items. In a Facebook post on by Facebook user Aljon Olfindo Manlangit on October 5, 2017 recalled the incident that gained back their trust on taxi drivers again.
According to the trending post, a taxi driver named Joel B. Vergara delivered the lost baggage of his friend to their front door. Apparently, the owner of the baggage, Chester Melvin Belgica, was away when the taxi driver returned his bags. As soon as he discovered that he lost it, Belgica immediately went back to the airport to report his lost baggage.
The driver from Tabaco, Albay found Belgica’s bag at the back of his taxi. After they inspect it, he found out that the baggage contains a laptop, cellphone, and several valuable documents.
Without second thoughts, the taxi driver returned the bag to its rightful owner immidiately. It took a while because he had another foreigner passenger, but in the end, he managed to return the bag and its contents safely.
Because of his honesty, he became an instant online sensation! People on social media were inspired by Vergara’s virtue and most of them expressed their compliments and praises to the honest taxi driver.
On the other hand, in another post, Manlangit hinted that he has been contacted by several local news outlets because of the story.
People are hoping that Vergara’s motivational story can be featured nationwide so he could receive the recognition he truly deserved.
